January Prayer Guide

THEME: RENEWAL
Follow these daily prayer prompts, repeating each week of the month.

Day 1 Renewed Heart – PSALM 51

  • Reflect on your heart and your actions. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any hidden or unrepentant sins in your life. Confess those, thanking God for his mercy and forgiveness that’s available through Jesus.

Day 2 Renewed Mind – ROMANS 12:2

  • Take a few minutes to empty your mind. Ask God to help quiet the noise, including your own thoughts, and to focus on him. Pray for discernment – the ability to hear God’s voice through His Word and the Spirit inside of you.

Day 3 Renewed Strength – ISAIAH 40:30–31

  • Thank God that even though our bodies fail, he never will. Pray for him to sustain you through the day, and ask for the physical, mental, and emotional capacity to thrive in your roles and responsibilities today. Jesus is enough for you!

Day 4 Renewed Purpose – EPHESIANS 2:10

  • Give God thanks for another day, and another year! He has a plan for you. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you in the work he has for you. Be an ambassador for Jesus in all that you do. Lord, your will be done!

Day 5 Renewed Hope – LAMENTATIONS 3:22–24

  • Praise God for his faithfulness to you! Rest in his mercy. Pray for the Lord to help you shift your hope from temporary things to him alone. All our hope in Jesus!

Day 6 Renewed Motivation – 1 CORINTHIANS 10:31

  • Ask the Lord to give you one goal above everything else: bring glory to Jesus. Pray for the Holy Spirit to show you the things in your life that compete with that goal and how you can change them. Glorify his name!

Day 7 Renewed Mission – HEBREWS 12:1–2

  • If you’ve gotten off track, lack commitment in your faith, or just feel tired, ask God to renew your passion for his mission. Turn your eyes to Jesus. Follow the Good Shepherd and let the Gospel of Grace keep you going because the work of your salvation is already complete. Hallelujah!
