2022 Quarterly Leadership Update (April - June)
August 5, 2022
Dear City Awakening Family,
We are now beyond the halfway point of our Year Through The Bible. I have enjoyed spending this time with you diving deeper into the biblical narrative. I am always amazed by how practical, relevant, and timeless the scriptures are. In the words of John Wesley:
“I want to know one thing, the way to heaven; how to land safe on that happy shore. God has condescended to teach the way; for this end he came from heaven. He hath written it down in a book. Give me that book! At any price give me the Book of God!”
Let’s not take for granted the wonderful opportunity the Lord’s given us to study the biblical narrative together this year. Let’s also not take for granted the many things the Lord’s given us to celebrate. This summer we’ve been able to celebrate strong church attendance, financial giving, new members, baptisms, parent commissioning, children and students at camp, and new office space in downtown Oviedo. We’ve also been able to celebrate people coming to faith in Christ!
I’ll admit when City Awakening first started it was sometimes hard finding things to celebrate. But that isn’t the case anymore! The Lord is doing some great things in and through our church, and I’m excited to see what the Fall will bring. Here’s a few things you can look forward to:
Our membership class called Growth Track.
Small groups starting back up with a new and more impactful focus.
Various team trainings and leadership development opportunities.
Continuing to study the biblical narrative. (A message I’m really looking froward to is studying the crucifixion of Christ, with greater insight from a medical doctor we know.)
Learning what’s ahead for 2023 as we cast vision for the upcoming year.
So as summer comes to an end and your Fall routine begins, if you’ve been inconsistent in coming to church start this Fall with a step toward consistency. If you’ve been consistent in coming to church, start this Fall with a step toward greater involvement in serving, giving, growing, inviting more friends to come to church with you, and remember its invitations that can lead to transformations. The Lord has really blessed us this summer, and I’m looking forward to the Lord blessing us even more in the Fall with your involvement. Let’s have an incredible Fall of reaching people, and reaching the world with the Gospel.
Reach People, Reach The World,
Pastor Louis Tamburro III
