Andrew’s Story

Not too long ago, I found myself living in place that no longer felt like home. I felt like I didn’t belong. I needed a life change, and I decided to move. After settling into my new house and city, there was still something missing. After a good look in the mirror, I realized I needed to seek a higher power. A quick google search led me to a church named City Awakening. I decided to attend a service, and I had no idea what to expect or where my life would go from that point on, but after that first service I talked with Pastor Louis and ended up surrendering my life to Jesus that day! Through the gracious welcoming I received from the City Awakening family, I came to realize this was the best decision of my life thus far.

I kept attending City Awakening due to their love and support, and in September I was baptized! With each service I attend, my relationship with Jesus grows stronger. I could not be where I am today without them. I truly believe God put me in this church and continuously uses them to improve my faith and life overall.

My faith has grown beyond my comprehension in the past few months. I believe that God is teaching me His patience, compassion and mercy. He challenges me by putting me to the test each day, and I have become aware of my struggles such as anger, depression and anxiety through those tests. Each day I am reminded of where I need to grow, and I know He is always with me guiding the way.

I’m excited about taking the next steps in my faith and with the church. I’m currently in the process of becoming a member, plugging into a small group, and finding my place to serve on one of the volunteer teams. 

I would encourage others to visit City Awakening because they preach the truth and nothing short of it. I’ve invited people to attend and shared City Awakening’s YouTube channel hoping they will experience what I have. I can’t force anyone to change, but I do want to pass on the hope and wisdom I have gained from attending City Awakening.
