21 Days of Prayer
We hope that these days of prayer will draw us closer to God as we learn to rely on him more. The prayers below are categorized into three sections: Discover, Deepen, and Display. Each phase of this discipleship pattern is essential to our continued growth and transformation. We’ve also included 3 days of fasting as a part of this journey. Each Wednesday, we are asking that you fast as a way of creating a greater hunger for God and learning to rely completely on Him. You may not be able or ready for a 24-hour fast, but we encourage you to do what you can to actually feel the fast, even if that means just fasting through one meal. The point is not to be legalistic but to be reminded that we “do not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God”. Week One: Discover
March 14 (Ezekiel 38:23): Begin this week of prayer by praising God for his desire to be known by his children and for his faithfulness to reveal himself, especially through Jesus. Ask him to help you know and trust him more deeply over the next 21 days.
March 15 (Mark 9:20-22): Cry out to God in confession over the parts of his character that you are prone to doubt or forget. Reflect on his goodness, holiness, justice, love, and faithfulness.
March 16 (Psalm 139:23,24): Ask God to work in your heart to reveal to you areas that are keeping you from growing in your intimacy and knowledge of him. Honestly confess all of your sins, and accept his forgiveness.
March 17 (Colossians 4:2): What led you to Jesus ? What keeps you coming back ? Reflect on times the Lord has faithfully revealed Himself to you and respond with thanksgiving. Ask him to help you see his hand at work in your life today.
March 18 - Day of Fasting (2 Thessalonians 5:24): Ask the Spirit for help in renouncing the lies of the Enemy and the world that you are prone to believe. Remember that you are constantly in a spiritual battle, but you do not fight alone.
March 19 (Jude 1:20,21): Believe that Jesus loves you. Pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance and help in leading you toward personal holiness and a deeper love of Christ. How will you grow in your love for him ?
March 20 (Hebrews 10:24,25): Ask God to put people in your life to help you pursue Jesus, or thank him for those he’s already provided. Pray for vulnerability, accountability, and encouragement through those relationships.
Week Two: Deepen
March 21 (Ephesians 5:29,30): Begin this week of prayer by praising God for his commitment to the Church and his desire for Her to be sanctified. Ask the Spirit to refine you as you submit to him and follow him as Lord.
March 22 (Philippians 2:1-4): Ask God to help us develop a deeper love and unity among our congregation, and that we will humbly serve one another. Pray that guests and those outside our church would be drawn to Jesus through our oneness.
March 23 (Ephesians 3:14-21): Cry out to God to grow our church both spiritually and numerically as we labor together to reach Orlando with the Gospel. Our big prayer is to be a community of 200+ believers worshipping and serving together weekly.
March 24 (1 Peter 5:1-4; Hebrews 13:18): Pray specifically for protection over our pastors (lay and staff elders) and their families. Pray for continual wisdom and discernment as they lead and shepherd our church.
March 25 - Day of Fasting (Romans 12:11): Thank God for our staff and many volunteers who faithfully serve our church. Pray that each one will feel supported, equipped, and will serve with joy. Pray for volunteer needs to be met and multiplication in our teams.
March 26 (Psalm 117:2): What led you to City Awakening ? Thank God for specific ways he has grown or encouraged you through CA, and pray for more people to experience gospel-transformation through intentional discipleship in our church.
March 27 (Hebrews 5:14-6:1): Ask God to grow you in spiritual depth and maturity. Pray that we would be a people who long to know Jesus, and that we would not be complacent in our walk with him or the work he wants to do through us.
Week Three: Display
March 28 (I Timothy 1:12-14): Begin this week by reflecting on your story of gospel-transformation. Praise God for the testimony he has given you and for those who have helped you grow in your relationship with Christ.
March 29 (Romans 1:16): Ask God to give you boldness in your faith. Pray for the Spirit to show you opportunities to share your story or the Gospel with those around you.
March 30 (2 Peter 3:9): Plead earnestly with God to bring spiritual awakening to our city through City Awakening and other Gospel-centered churches in our community. Pray that he would give us a building that can be used to increase our impact for his glory.
March 31 (2 Timothy 2:2): Pray for God to multiply disciples at City Awakening. From children’s ministry to students, families, and adults, we want to make disciples who make disciples. Ask him how you can be part of that mission ?
April 1 - Day of Fasting (Acts 1:8): Ask the Holy Spirit to work in power through you and through our church to spread the Gospel. Pray that we would see a record number of salvations and baptisms this year.
April 2 (2 Chronicles 7:14): Ask God to work miraculously through our 24-hours of Prayer. Pray for mercy, healing, discernment, hope, and clarity. Ask the Lord to show favor and blessing to our congregation, and that His will be done.
April 3 - Good Friday (1 Corinthians 1:18): Pray for the unchurched and dechurched to attend our Easter service. Pray that their hearts would be softened, ears opened to the Gospel, and their souls saved
